Invites and Paper

Wedding invites

Ok so for my wedding my guest list is at about 230 people. We are having an outside ceremony that automatically comes with 100 chairs and for each additional chair is $1. So my question how many people actually show up for the ceremony? and is it appropriate to include on the invitation a RSVP for the ceremony?

Wait until all of the RSVPs come in, and then have a chair for every one of those people. At this point, budget for the full $130.

Don't have a separate Ceremony and Reception RSVP. In the long run...it's a whole dollar. Not a big deal...

ETA: Your profile says your wedding isn't until 2015. I think you have enough time to save up $130 for the chairs...
  • I put on my RSVP:

We have reserved ___seat(s) in your honor:

_____ # attending ceremony and reception
    _____ # attendng reception
    _____ Decline

That way we will know how many chairs we will need and it elimnates unwanted guests.

We also had to rent chairs for our outdoor ceremony.  We had 170 (160 of which who would actually need chairs since the WP was standing) people RSVP yes, and I think that we rented 180 chairs.  So all in all, we ordered 20 extra chairs.  Keep in mind that you will need more chairs than people, because you don't want people to have to slip up if there is only 1 or 2 chairs left in a row.  I went to a wedding where this happened, and it was very awkward with people shuffling around and filling in gaps and splitting up.
